About the Role
Our Vancouver office is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead and execute a diverse range of mechanical engineering projects. This role involves both office-based design and field-based engineering work, supporting industrial and infrastructure clients with complex mechanical systems.
You will be responsible for technical execution, coordination with other disciplines, and contributing to project delivery from proposal through completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute mechanical engineering projects, including design, construction, and commissioning activities
- Prepare detailed engineering calculations, drawings, and technical specifications
- Develop proposals, cost estimates, scopes of work, and contract documents for mechanical and multi-discipline projects
- Perform or oversee construction inspections, testing, and material evaluations
- Conduct site visits and field surveys throughout the project lifecycle
- Analyze engineering data and prepare technical reports and progress documentation
- Present technical findings and project updates to internal teams and external clients
- Collaborate with civil, structural, electrical, and project management teams
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Active Professional Engineer (P.Eng)
- 10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical or industrial engineering design
- Proven experience leading complex engineering projects
- Strong knowledge of mechanical system design for industrial facilities
- Experience with CAD-based design and development of engineering drawing packages
- Familiarity with project management methodologies
- Excellent communication, presentation, and coordination skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred
- Experience with heavy industrial systems (mining, pulp & paper, bulk material handling, or similar)
- Hands-on experience with site inspections and field measurements
- Proficiency with Revit, Belt Analyst, and dust collection modeling software
